The Germans.

We had our first visitors last weekend. Our good friends Dieter and Angela visited us over the long weekend. It was really really good to see them, we haven't seen Dieter and Angela since 2004 when we stayed with them in Berlin.

We saw so much of Suzhou while they were here. We went to Tiger Hill, Master of Nets Garden, Old Suzhou a canal tour and the list goes on. We also managed to be the tourist attraction ourselves at many points. Nothing is so interesting to the Chinese as a 6 foot 5 German, a blond Aussie man and a couple of busty women. We had our photos taken and posed with a few locals.

It was really interesting to see this place through someone elses eyes. We have been here long enough to notice all the bad things, let small things get us down and take life for granted sometimes. But, yes, life here is good. We have a great apartment, live in a nice complex, have all of our housework done for us. We have access to every type of food and restaurant at very cheap prices and have made some really great friends from all over the world!
